Logan's Private Coaching

Hello, my name is Logan Kausrud. I competed in Stoa for 6 years in the events of LD, TP, Parli, Apol, Extemp, Impromptu, Mars Hill, O.O, and Duo. To explain my coaching approach, I’m going to share two mottos that have shaped my path in Stoa and beyond.

My motto for Speech and Debate is that “hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work”. 

I am not the most naturally talented speaker, but I achieved success through lots of hard work. 

In my senior year, my TP partner and I put in countless hours of work, which resulted in 4 tournament wins and us holding first place in the nation January through May, finishing the year second overall. In addition to my debate success, I also specialized in the Apologetics and Extemporaneous speech events. I placed highly because of my hard work and discipline, and I’m excited to share my insights to those who want to challenge themselves and improve their skills. 

My life motto is to glorify God and edify others. Stoa has been such a transformative part of my life, teaching me perseverance, communication skills, and most importantly strengthening my faith. I see Christ’s love expressed in the culture of Stoa and the meaningful friendships that are made. I want to teach you how to win in speech and debate, but most importantly how to win for Christ’s glory and to sharpen the faith of others.

I’m excited to share the valuable knowledge and insights I’ve learned from my six years in STOA with the next generation of competitors, equipping them to speak boldly for Christ.
