About Ben Janssen

Ben Janssen will soon be studying mechanical engineering at Harding University in Arkansas. A lifelong learner with a love for solving complex problems, Ben brings the same discipline and focus to engineering that he developed on the baseball field, where he played throughout high school.

In addition to athletics, Ben spent five years competing in the Stoa speech and debate league, specializing in Team Policy and Parliamentary debate. His dedication to research and critical thinking led him to win Team Policy at the National Invitational Tournament of Champions (NITOC), one of the league’s highest honors.  Ben is proud to advocate that bakers can own banks.  While speeches weren’t always his strength, Ben thrived in the strategic and analytical side of debate, gaining valuable experience in constructing arguments, thinking on his feet, and collaborating with teammates. These skills continue to shape his academic and professional goals today.
