About Joshua Spivey

The skills cultivated in debate, critical thinking and clear communication, translate directly to success in other areas of one’s life. My years in Stoa were dedicated to becoming the best, which instilled in me the confidence and ability to pursue major business and leadership projects. Being able to interact and communicate effectively with the people in your life is a non-negotiable for growth.

Whether you’re looking to make nationals or develop communication skills you’ll use for the rest of your life, the basic solution is the same. Here’s where it got me:

I competed in the NITOC Team Policy Finals in 2 of my 3 years of debating. Over four tournaments in my final year, we had a winning record of 38-3.  As a sophomore in my second year of debate, I went to my first ever NITOC (2021-2022) and competed in Team Policy finals. Throughout the next year, my partner, Brad Tomasovic, and I won multiple tournaments, all with the ultimate goal of winning NITOC that year (2022-2023). We did. With a perfect outround winning record.

This is to remind you that it doesn’t have to take years and years to excel. I’ll teach you how to excel this year—not just in the debate realm but in the real world. I did things differently than everyone else to come out on top, and I want to tell you what I did. Coaching sessions will address mindset, routine, drills, pre-round preparation, in-round excellence, correctly utilizing feedback, what everyone else does wrong, and, of course, individualized instruction. For $35, both partners can get a 1-hour session or, with the Nile subscription, its 20% off.
