Tigris Debate is the Lincoln-Douglas division of Nile Debate—crafted for debaters who value logical clarity, strategic reasoning, and the fusion of evidence and philosophy. Inspired by the biblical story of Daniel by the Tigris River, the brand champions the kind of intellect and moral conviction that can move minds and win rounds.

Why the Name “Tigris”?

Daniel stood by the Tigris River and changed the course of history—not with power, but with reason. When no one else could answer the king, Daniel spoke with clarity, courage, and conviction. He used pure reasoning and moral argument to reveal truth in the face of pressure and power.

That’s the vision behind Tigris Debate.

We equip students to do the same: to evaluate ethical questions, defend truth boldly, and use the tools of logic and persuasion not only to win rounds—but to shape culture, lead with integrity, and influence the world beyond the ballot.

Who’s Behind Tigris?

We partner with some of the most accomplished alumni in the LD world—national finalists, champions, and seasoned coaches like Ben Copeland, Camille Rowley, Micah Magness, Thorger Baker, and Jeremiah Mosbey—all ready to invest in the next generation. When you learn with Tigris, you learn from the best.
